Art has been central to my life for many years. I taught Art in Edinburgh and then moved back to Orkney where I had my three children and taught part time in both secondary and primary education. I have undertaken various design projects overs the years including the creation of the Orkney tartans, book illustration and jewellery design. My love of painting was resurrected in 2017 when I began helping with restoration work at the Italian Chapel with Antonella Papa – it gave me the urge to paint again.
We are all living in difficult times and although lockdown has been challenging it has given me time to paint, create and make. I love the Orkney landscape and the changing seasons and I’ve felt very lucky to live here over these past few testing months and have time to appreciate the little things in life around me.
I am so glad to be part of Many New Dances and be able to help in some small way to raise funds for MND Scotland.
