…and painting, printmaking and drawing.
It is easy to think that not much has happened over the course of a year, however on reflection it turns out that in fact lots has come between then and now. A day can be swallowed up waiting for paint to dry, it can disappear when walking a new path and a day of thinking feels like a blink. A week then becomes the same as the last but different because a new drawing is made as a reminder of what was seen while walking.
Then a year passes.
This last year, my collection of found objects has been amazing. They are reminders of specific walks and sit in the studio or on the Eerie Orum Shelf to inform new lines, marks, colours and textures.

After a year of commissions, work has started on a new collection of work that is to be part of an exhibition in October, my mind has already started thinking about a larger collection of work that will be committed to another exhibition in the future.
I suspect this time next year it’ll feel like a blink. For now I have made a promise to myself to keep reflecting, collecting and walking, the rest will come as it should, with all that comes in between.
