10 days, 10 artworks. Day five

I have chosen to look back through my archives to give a behind the scenes look at how my work has developed over the years.  Mostly unseen works stored away in my studio Plan Chest, these are works that will stay there for my reference.  Included will be a few paintings that I see as key pieces to my practice.

Painted at Edinburgh College of Art. Age 20

Life drawing, Drawing for painting, Drawing for Sculpture, sketch books, location drawing etc etc – Drawing was an integral part of learning at ECA and I loved it.  It allowed for a real understanding of line, tone, texture, composition and materials.

I try to keep up my drawing practice but I’ve never drawn as much as I did then.
